I remember a garden, when I was a girl. I recall sleepy summer afternoons when the sun was too hot for working,
we sat by the shade of a tree, my Mother and I;
she would sing to me, an old song;
“My beloved said to me, arise my fair one, arise, and come away…”
To love him was to follow him into a passion which embraced the world - even as the world sought to destroy that passion.
His Mother, his friend, and a voice from ancient times-
three women, one Passion,
and a love beyond the understanding of mere men.
